Relay For Life Mercer Rallying for 2011-2012
Season
The
American Cancer Society Relay For Life Mercer
gives everyone in the immediate and surrounding
communities a chance to help the organization
save lives and create a world with less cancer
and more birthdays.
You can register a team
today. Call Kara Stainbrook at 724.977.1944 for
more information and/or to register a team.
Former
and current cancer patients, those who have lost
a loved one to cancer, families, businesses,
faith-based and civic organizations, co-workers
and anyone wanting to make a difference in the
fight against cancer are invited to take part in
this exciting team event. Relay For Life Mercer
2012 will take place from 9:00 AM on June 16,
2012 until 9:00 AM on June 17, 2012 at Mercer
High School Track Arena. However, Team
Meetings begin September 27, 2011, to prepare
for the annual event. The oldest Relay in the
County, Mercer is a growing Relay in many ways.
Come grow with us!
Relay For Life
events are held overnight as individuals and
teams camp out at an athletic track, park or
other gathering area, with the goal of keeping
at least one team member on the track or pathway
at all times throughout the evening. Teams do
most of their fundraising prior to the event,
but some teams also hold creative fundraisers at
their camp sites during Relay. Relay brings
together friends, families, businesses,
hospitals, schools, faith-based groups . . .
people from all walks of life – all aimed at
furthering the American Cancer Society’s efforts
to save lives by helping people stay well, by
helping them get well, by finding cures and by
fighting back. Relay For Life is the signature
fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.
